Space heater Black Friday and Prime Day deal check: the four picks all top out at 1500 W, so check the safety listing before you trust the discount

The four heaters here all top out at 1500 W, so a discount buys no extra heat. Check the ETL or UL mark, tip-over switch and warranty first.

Short answer

A space heater on sale is worth checking on its safety listing, not its heat output, because the four picks here are the same 1500 W: the Lasko 755320 and CT18950, the Dreo Atom One and the De’Longhi EW7707CM all print 1500 W as their maximum on the maker’s page. What differs is the listing mark, the tip-over switch, the overheat cut-off, the thermostat and the warranty. UL investigates portable electric heaters to ANSI/UL 1278 and requires a tip-over test at the most severe orientation; CPSC says to choose a heater certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory and to keep it three feet from anything that burns. Of the four picks only the Lasko CT18950 page prints all of ETL Listed, tip-over switch and overheat protection. Prime Big Deal Days run October 6-7, 2026 per Amazon; Black Friday is November 27, and Amazon has not announced its Black Friday window.

The picks

  1. Bedroom or office up to 200 sq ft, wants every safety line printed

    Lasko Ellipse CT18950 ceramic tower

Lasko product page: 750 W to 1500 W, ETL Listed, tip-over switch, overheat protection, adjustable thermostat, 12-hour timer, 200 sq ft, 3-year warranty

  2. Small room up to 150 sq ft; the page prints no tip-over switch

    Lasko 755320 digital ceramic tower

Lasko product page: 900 W to 1500 W, ETL Listed, overheat protection, cool-touch housing, adjustable thermostat with digital display, 8-hour timer, 150 sq ft, 3-year warranty; tip-over switch not printed on the page read

  3. Desk or small room, wants a 1-degree thermostat; no listing mark on the page

Dreo Atom One (DR-HSH004) ceramic heater

Dreo product page: 1000 to 1500 W at 120 V, tip-over and overheat protection, thermostat 41-95 F in 1 F steps, 1-12 h timer, 12-month warranty; no ETL or UL wording on the page read

  4. Silent whole-evening heat; no listing mark or tip-over wording on the page

    De'Longhi ComfortTemp EW7707CM oil-filled radiator

De'Longhi product page: input power 1500 W, thermal cut-off, room thermostat and safety thermostat; warranty printed as 2-year in one place and 3-year in the banner; no ETL, UL or tip-over wording on the page read

Do not buy a space heater because of the deal badge; the discount buys no extra heat, only a different safety listing, and if the maker’s page cannot show a listing mark, the cheap one is cheap for a reason.

The price and any “Save” figure on each card above are Amazon’s live numbers with Amazon’s time stamp; this page states no price of its own.

Is the discount real?

The percentage depends on the denominator. Amazon’s seller guidance defines the struck-through List Price as the suggested retail price provided by a manufacturer, supplier or seller, sometimes called the MSRP, and a Typical Price as the median customers paid in Amazon’s store over the past 90 days, excluding limited-time promotions.

A saving against a List Price nobody paid is a different claim from a saving against the 90-day median. The FTC’s Guides Against Deceptive Pricing, 16 CFR 233.1, accept a former-price comparison when the former price is the actual, bona fide price at which the article was offered to the public on a regular basis for a reasonably substantial period of time.

Why does the discount not buy more heat?

Lasko says the majority of its space heaters pull 1,500 watts on high, and the four picks here print the same ceiling. Lasko prints 900 W to 1500 W for the 755320 and 750 W to 1500 W for the CT18950, Dreo prints 1000 to 1500 W at 120 V for the Atom One and De’Longhi prints 1500 W input for the EW7707CM. The breaker guide shows why that ceiling trips a shared circuit.

The same 1500 W costs the same to run for the same hours whatever the case looks like, so the running cost calculator gives one answer for all four. The sale changes the purchase line only.

What has to be on the listing before you buy?

UL says portable electric heaters are Listed under the category Air Heaters, Movable and Wall- or Ceiling-Hung (KKPT), investigated to ANSI/UL 1278, the Standard for Safety for Movable and Wall- or Ceiling-Hung Electric Room Heaters. A Listed heater passes a tip-over test at the most severe orientation without emitting embers, flame or molten metal and without igniting the terry cloth it is tipped onto.

How do the four picks compare on paper?

The Lasko CT18950 is the only one of the four whose page prints all three safety lines, which is why it leads the picks despite the smallest room figure, 200 sq ft. Lasko’s own CT22445 page shows what the gap means: same 900 W to 1500 W as the 755320, with a tip-over switch added and 300 sq ft printed.

The Dreo Atom One has the tightest thermostat on paper, 41-95 F in 1 F steps, and the shortest warranty, 12 months. Its product page prints no ETL or UL wording; if the mark is on the plug when it arrives, that is the mark to trust, not a bullet point.

The De’Longhi EW7707CM is the oil-filled type: a safety thermostat and a thermal cut-off, but no tip-over or listing wording on the page read, and two warranty terms. A reader who wants an oil radiator should ask De’Longhi which term applies before the sale ends.

Before you add it to the cart

Open the maker’s page, not the listing, and tick listing mark, tip-over, overheat, thermostat and warranty. A heater missing the listing mark is the one to skip, however bright the deal badge, because every unit on this page tops out at the same 1500 W.

When do space heaters go on sale?

Amazon’s announcement puts Prime Big Deal Days at October 6-7, 2026, from 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6, 48 hours across more than 35 categories for Prime members. Black Friday is Friday November 27, 2026 and Cyber Monday November 30, by the calendar: as of 3 October, Amazon had not published a Black Friday window on any page this site could open.

NFPA reports that nearly half of heating equipment fires, 46 percent, occur from December through February, so Black Friday week falls just ahead of that window.

What should you do first?

  1. Open the maker’s product page for the exact model number on the card.
  2. Tick five lines: listing mark, tip-over, overheat, thermostat, warranty.
  3. Measure three feet of clear floor around where it will stand; NFPA, CPSC and ESFI all give that distance.
  4. Check the outlet: a wall outlet, nothing else on it, no extension cord or power strip (ESFI).
  5. Compare the card’s saving against the Typical Price, not only the List Price.

Frequently asked questions

Does a more expensive space heater put out more heat?

Not among the four picks here. The Lasko 755320 and CT18950, the Dreo Atom One and the De'Longhi EW7707CM all print 1500 W as their maximum on the maker's page, and 1500 W is 1500 W whether the case is ceramic, oil-filled or infrared. What the extra money buys is a listing mark, a tip-over switch, a tighter thermostat and a longer warranty, so compare those.

What does UL 1278 mean on a space heater?

UL says portable electric heaters are Listed under the category Air Heaters, Movable and Wall- or Ceiling-Hung (KKPT) and investigated to ANSI/UL 1278. A Listed heater must pass a tip-over test at the most severe orientation without emitting embers, flame or molten metal and without igniting the terry cloth it falls onto. None of the maker pages read prints the number itself; they print ETL Listed or nothing.

Is a tip-over switch required by UL?

Not as the only route. UL's 2009 Code Authority note says makers may use temperature limiting controls or a switch to satisfy the tip-over test; where a switch is used it must act before the heater tips beyond its angle of critical balance. CPSC's 2003 release says an automatic cut-off device is required to turn off electric heaters if they tip over. Prefer a page that prints the switch.

What does the struck-through List Price on an Amazon space heater listing mean?

Amazon's seller guidance defines the List Price as the suggested retail price provided by a manufacturer, supplier or seller, sometimes called the MSRP. A separate Typical Price is the median customers paid in Amazon's store over the past 90 days, excluding limited-time promotions. The percentage saving on a card depends on which of those two is the denominator, so compare against the Typical Price.

When are Prime Big Deal Days and Black Friday 2026?

Amazon's announcement puts Prime Big Deal Days at October 6-7, 2026, starting October 6 at 12:01 a.m. PDT for Prime members, 48 hours across more than 35 categories. Black Friday falls on Friday November 27, 2026 and Cyber Monday on November 30 by the calendar; as of 3 October Amazon had not published a Black Friday window on any page this site could open.

Fact sheet and how to cite this page

Answer
A space heater on sale is worth checking only on its safety listing, because the four picks here are the same 1500 W: Lasko, Dreo and De’Longhi all print 1500 W as the maximum. UL investigates portable electric heaters to ANSI/UL 1278, and CPSC says to choose one certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory. Prime Big Deal Days run October 6-7, 2026 per Amazon; the Black Friday window is unannounced.
Basis
UL’s description of the KKPT heater category and ANSI/UL 1278 tip-over test (The Code Authority, 2009), CPSC’s 2003 space heater release, NFPA and ESFI heating safety pages, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days 2026 announcement and List Price and Typical Price definitions, 16 CFR 233.1, and the wattage, listing, tip-over, thermostat and warranty wording printed on the Lasko, Dreo and De’Longhi product pages.
Assumptions
  • Every pick prints 1500 W as its maximum, and Lasko says the majority of its space heaters pull 1,500 watts on high; the breaker arithmetic is on the breaker guide
  • Prime Big Deal Days are October 6-7, 2026 per Amazon; Black Friday is Friday November 27, 2026 by the calendar, and Amazon had not announced a Black Friday window when this page was checked
  • A listing mark or a tip-over switch counts as present only when the maker’s own product page prints it; an Amazon bullet point is not a source
Method
Spec comparison of maker-published wattage, listing, tip-over, overheat, thermostat and warranty wording, UL’s published description of the ANSI/UL 1278 tip-over test, CPSC, NFPA and ESFI safety guidance and Amazon’s own event and pricing definitions, read on 2026-10-03. Nothing was bench-tested and no heater was run. Prices and savings on the product cards are Amazon’s live figures and are never written into this page.
