Short answer
For a pull-down kitchen faucet bought on published specifications, the pick is the Moen Arbor 7594: Moen’s spec sheet prints 1.5 gpm at 60 psi, the 1255 Duralast cartridge, Reflex docking, a 68 in braided hose, a 1 or 3 hole fit, NSF 61/9 and 372 and a lifetime limited warranty to the original homeowner. The runner-up is the Delta Essa 9113-DST: Delta’s sheet prints 1.8 gpm at 60 psi, MagnaTite magnetic docking, a diamond-coated ceramic cartridge, 1 or 3 hole mounting, NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372 and a lifetime limited parts and finish warranty. Every faucet on this page sits under the federal cap of 2.2 gpm at 60 psi in 10 CFR 430.32, so a lower flow number is not a reason to pay more. Skip all of them if the only complaint is a drip: on a Moen or Delta that is usually a cartridge, which the maker may ship free under that same warranty.
The picks
Wants the longest printed hose and a cartridge the maker indexes
Moen Arbor 7594C (chrome, Reflex pull-down)
Moen 7594 spec sheet: 1.5 gpm at 60 psi, 1255 Duralast cartridge, Reflex docking, 68 in braided hose, 1 or 3 holes with a 6-1/2 in escutcheon, NSF 61/9 and 372, lifetime limited warranty to the original homeowner
Wants magnetic docking and the touch feature
Delta Essa 9113T-AR-DST (Arctic Stainless, Touch2O)
Delta 9113-DST spec sheet (non-touch model of the same series): 1.8 gpm at 60 psi, MagnaTite docking, diamond-coated ceramic cartridge, 1 or 3 holes, NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372, lifetime limited parts and finish warranty; product page: 20 in retractable hose
Wants a traditional high-arc shape with magnetic docking
Delta Leland 9178-SP-DST (SpotShield Stainless, with RP50781SP)
Delta 9178-DST product page: 1.8 gpm at 60 psi, MagnaTite docking, 20 in retractable hose, 1 or 3 holes with escutcheon, NSF/ANSI 61 and No-Lead Compliant, Lifetime Limited Warranty; the spec sheet PDF was Access Denied, so no cartridge number is printed here
Wants magnetic docking and a 3 in deck allowance
Pfister Talega F-529-7TEB (matte black, MagnePfit)
Pfister product page: 1.8 gpm, 1 or 3 holes, 3 in max deck, MagnePfit magnetic docking, Pforever Seal ceramic disc valve, NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 Q<=1, ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1 by IAPMO; Pforever Warranty on finish and function with registration; hose length not printed
Single-hole sink and the fewest claims to check
American Standard Southport 7441300.002 (chrome)
American Standard product page: 1.8 gpm (6.8 L/min), single-hole, dual spray, ceramic disc valve; the page prints no hose length, standard number, docking type or warranty wording
If the faucet drips, runs slow or leaks at the handle, close this page and read which faucet cartridge do I have first: every fault in that list is a part, not a faucet.
How was this shortlist built?
Every figure here is a manufacturer-published specification read on 2026-10-03 from the document named beside it; nothing was installed, run or tested by this site, and every linked listing was confirmed in stock on Amazon the same day. Units were compared on rated flow at 60 psi, cartridge or valve type, docking system, hose length, hole count and deck plate, printed NSF/ANSI standards and warranty wording.
A standard number appears only where the maker prints it. Where a sheet would not load, the row says so instead of filling the cell.
Two models were compared but not linked. Moen’s Align 7565 and Kohler’s Simplice showed scarce or lead-time stock on every Amazon listing checked, and this site links only a listing it confirmed in stock.
What does the law cap kitchen faucet flow at?
10 CFR 430.32(o) sets the federal maximum for a kitchen faucet at 2.2 gpm (8.3 L/min), measured at 60 psi, and the same 2.2 gpm for a kitchen replacement aerator. A gallon per minute (gpm) is the flow at the spout with the valve fully open at that test pressure.
Every maker sheet on this page prints 1.5 or 1.8 gpm, well under the cap. A lower number is not a feature to pay for: it is the maker’s choice of aerator, and the gap between 1.5 and 1.8 gpm is 0.3 gallons over a full minute of running.
EPA’s WaterSense program does not label kitchen faucets. Its faucet page states that EPA only has criteria for private lavatory and bar sink faucets and “does not have criteria for any other faucet type”, naming kitchen faucets; labeled bathroom faucets are capped at 1.5 gpm. California sets a lower state limit for kitchen faucets, but no state page was readable this session, so that figure is not quoted here.
How do the faucets compare on paper?
| Faucet | Flow at 60 psi | Cartridge or valve | Docking | Hose | Holes | Standards printed | Warranty as printed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Moen Arbor 7594 | 1.5 gpm | 1255 Duralast | Reflex | 68 in braided | 1 or 3, 6-1/2 in escutcheon | NSF 61/9 and 372; ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1; IAPMO Green | Lifetime limited, original homeowner; 10 yr multifamily; 5 yr commercial |
| Moen Align 7565 (not linked) | 1.5 gpm | 1255 Duralast | Reflex | 68 in braided | 1; optional 3-hole escutcheon 141002 | NSF 61/9G and 372; ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1; IAPMO Green | Lifetime limited, original homeowner; 10 yr multifamily; 5 yr commercial |
| Delta Essa 9113-DST | 1.8 gpm | Diamond-coated ceramic (DIAMOND Seal); no RP number on the sheet | MagnaTite | 20 in retractable (product page) | 1 or 3; escutcheon RP80524 sold separately | NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372; ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1 | Parts and finish lifetime limited; 10 yr multi-family; 5 yr commercial |
| Delta Leland 9178-DST | 1.8 gpm (product page) | DIAMOND Seal valve (product page) | MagnaTite | 20 in retractable (product page) | 1 or 3, escutcheon | NSF/ANSI 61; “No-Lead Compliant”; sheet not readable | Lifetime Limited Warranty |
| Kohler Simplice K-596 (not linked) | 1.5 gpm; Boost button raises flow 30% | Ceramic disc valves; no part number on the sheet | DockNetik | Not printed | 1 or 3, escutcheon included | NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372; ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1; CEC | Kohler Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty |
| Pfister Talega F-529-7TE | 1.8 gpm | Pforever Seal ceramic disc | MagnePfit | Not printed | 1 or 3, 3 in max deck | NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 Q<=1; ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1 (IAPMO); CEC | Pforever Warranty, finish and function, registration required |
| American Standard Southport 7441300 | 1.8 gpm | Ceramic disc valve | Not printed | Not printed | 1 | None printed on the page | Not printed on the page |
A cartridge is the replaceable valve inside the body that stops and mixes the water; a ceramic disc valve is the same job done by two polished discs. Docking is how the spray wand seats back in the spout after the hose retracts: Moen’s Reflex, Delta’s MagnaTite, Kohler’s DockNetik and Pfister’s MagnePfit are each maker’s name for it, and Delta and Pfister describe theirs as magnetic.
Moen Arbor 7594: buy it or skip it?
Buy it if you want the cartridge in print and the longest hose on the table. Moen’s 7594 sheet prints 1.5 gpm at 60 psi, the 1255 Duralast cartridge, Reflex pull-down docking, a 68 in braided hose, installation through 1 or 3 holes of 1-1/2 in minimum diameter, a 2-1/2 in maximum deck, NSF 61/9 and 372, ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1 and a lifetime limited warranty against leaks, drips and finish defects to the original homeowner.
The flaw is that the sheet covers two versions of the faucet, one with Power Boost and one with Power Clean spray, and the Amazon listing title is the only document that says which the 7594C ships with. This page does not pick between them.
Skip it if the sink has one hole and a modern look: the Moen Align 7565 prints the same 1.5 gpm, 1255 cartridge and 68 in hose with a 7-1/2 in reach and a right-side handle, and lists the 141002 escutcheon as an optional part for 3-hole decks. It is not linked because no listing was in stock on 2026-10-03.
Delta Leland and Delta Essa: buy them or skip them?
Buy the Delta Essa if magnetic docking decides. Delta’s 9113-DST sheet prints 1.8 gpm at 60 psi, DIAMOND Seal Technology with a diamond-coated ceramic cartridge, MagnaTite magnetic docking, 1 or 3 hole mounting, NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372 and a parts and finish lifetime limited warranty; Delta’s product page adds a 20 in retractable hose and lists the escutcheon as a separate part, RP80524.
The flaw is a documentation gap: the linked listing is the Touch2O model 9113T-AR-DST, and the sheet read is for the non-touch 9113-DST of the same series. No Delta document read this session prints the touch model’s power source or battery life, so read Delta’s installation guide for that before buying. Delta’s sheet prints no RP part number for the cartridge; this site’s Delta cartridge page matches one-handle DST faucets to the RP50587 from Delta’s parts pages.
Buy the Delta Leland if you want the traditional high-arc shape with the same docking. Delta’s 9178-DST product page prints a 360 degree swivel with a 20 in retractable hose, MagnaTite docking, Touch-Clean spray holes, “Tested and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61”, “No-Lead Compliant” and the Lifetime Limited Warranty; its specifications tab prints 1.8 gpm at 60 psi (6.8 L/min at 414 kPa) and a DIAMOND Seal valve.
The flaw is the missing sheet: Delta’s Leland spec sheet PDF returned Access Denied, so the cartridge number, deck thickness and the 372 line are not printed here. The linked listing also bundles an RP50781SP part, named in the title, which the product page does not describe.
Pfister Talega and American Standard Southport: buy them or skip them?
Buy the Pfister Talega if the counter is thick or you want the lead-free line printed with its test limit. Pfister’s page prints 1.8 gpm, 1 or 3 hole fit, a 3 in maximum deck thickness, MagnePfit magnetic docking, a Pforever Seal ceramic disc valve, NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 with Q<=1 and ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1 certified by IAPMO.
The flaw is the warranty wording: Pfister’s Pforever Warranty covers finish and function for as long as you own your home and requires registration, which is not the same promise as Moen’s or Delta’s lifetime limited warranty to the original homeowner. Pfister’s page prints no hose length and no 372 line.
Buy the American Standard Southport if the sink has one hole and you want the fewest claims to check. American Standard’s page prints 1.8 gpm (6.8 L/min), single-hole installation, a dual spray wand and a ceramic disc valve.
The flaw is everything the page leaves out: no hose length, no docking system, no standard number and no warranty wording. American Standard’s warranty page was not readable this session, so the Southport row carries the fewest commitments on the table.
Count the holes and find the cartridge before you buy
Two numbers decide between these faucets, and neither is the flow rate. First, the holes in the sink deck: 1 or 3, and whether the escutcheon is included (Delta, Kohler), optional (Moen Align) or not offered (American Standard). Second, the cartridge you will buy in ten years: Moen prints 1255 on both sheets and indexes it on the Moen cartridge page; Delta prints a diamond-coated ceramic cartridge with no number; Kohler, Pfister and American Standard print a ceramic disc valve with no number.
What about touch and touchless models?
Moen’s Arbor sheet mentions a pause feature on its touchless version, and the Amazon catalog lists touch (Delta 9113T) and touchless (Delta 9113TL, Moen 7594EWSRS) variants. No sheet read this session prints the power source, battery count or electrical listing for any of them, so this page compares the manual versions and leaves the electronics to the maker’s installation guide.
Who should skip a new faucet?
Anyone whose only complaint is a drip or a weak stream. On every single-handle faucet on this table the water is controlled by a cartridge or ceramic disc valve, and Moen’s and Delta’s warranties replace it for the original owner. The cartridge guide identifies the valve from the handle motion and the retainer.
Anyone buying for the water, not the fixture. A faucet changes nothing about what comes out of it; a faucet-mount filter threads onto the aerator of most standard spouts, though not onto a pull-down wand.
Anyone with a 3-hole deck and the Southport in the cart. American Standard’s page prints single-hole only.
What goes wrong?
The wand will not dock. Every maker above names its docking system, and two of the four call it magnetic on the pages read. A faucet with no docking named, like the Southport row, relies on the counterweight alone.
The deck is too thick. Moen and Delta print 2-1/2 in maximum, Pfister 3 in, Kohler 2-1/2 in. A farmhouse sink apron or a doubled countertop can exceed all of them.
The hose is shorter than the sink is wide. Moen prints 68 in, Delta’s Essa and Leland pages 20 in retractable, and Kohler, Pfister and American Standard print nothing.
Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum flow rate for a kitchen faucet in the US?
10 CFR 430.32(o) sets the federal maximum for kitchen faucets at 2.2 gpm (8.3 L/min) measured at 60 psi, and the same figure for kitchen replacement aerators. Every faucet compared here prints less: Moen's Arbor and Align and Kohler's Simplice print 1.5 gpm, Delta's Essa and Leland, Pfister's Talega and American Standard's Southport print 1.8 gpm, all at 60 psi.
Are kitchen faucets WaterSense labeled?
No. EPA's WaterSense page states that EPA only has labeling criteria for private lavatory (bathroom sink) and bar sink faucets, and has no criteria for any other faucet type, naming kitchen faucets. A kitchen faucet sold with a WaterSense badge is therefore not describing itself. Labeled bathroom faucets, by contrast, are capped at 1.5 gpm by that program.
Which cartridge do the Moen Arbor and Moen Align take?
Both spec sheets print the 1255 Duralast cartridge for the single-handle Arbor 7594 and Align 7565. Moen's cartridge index puts the 1255 family on single-handle faucets made after 2009, held by a retainer nut, and the older 1225 on faucets held by a U-shaped copper clip. Moen's lifetime limited warranty supplies the cartridge to the original homeowner without charge.
Do I need a 1-hole or a 3-hole kitchen faucet?
Count the holes in the sink deck. Moen's Arbor sheet, Delta's Essa sheet, Kohler's Simplice sheet and Pfister's Talega page all print installation through 1 or 3 holes, with a deck plate (escutcheon) covering the two spare holes; Kohler includes it, Delta's Essa page sells it as part RP80524, and Moen's Align sheet lists the 141002 escutcheon as optional. American Standard's Southport page prints single-hole only.
Is a dripping kitchen faucet worth replacing?
Usually not for the drip alone. On Moen, Delta, Kohler and Pfister single-handle faucets the water is shut by a replaceable cartridge or ceramic disc valve, and Moen's and Delta's warranties ship a replacement to the original owner free. Identify the valve on the cartridge guide first; replace the faucet for a reason the cartridge cannot fix, such as hole count, hose length or a failed finish.

- Answer
- On the maker sheets the pick is the Moen Arbor 7594: 1.5 gpm at 60 psi, the 1255 Duralast cartridge, Reflex docking, a 68 in hose, 1 or 3 holes, NSF 61/9 and 372, lifetime limited warranty. Runner-up is the Delta Essa 9113-DST: 1.8 gpm, MagnaTite docking, a diamond-coated ceramic cartridge, 1 or 3 holes, NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372. All seven sit under the 2.2 gpm federal cap in 10 CFR 430.32.
- Comparison basis
- Manufacturer specification sheets for the Moen Arbor 7594, Moen Align 7565, Delta Essa 9113-DST and Kohler Simplice K-596, and manufacturer product pages for the Delta Leland 9178-DST, Pfister Talega F-529-7TEGS and American Standard Southport 7441300, compared on flow rate at 60 psi, cartridge, docking system, hose length, hole count and deck plate, printed NSF/ANSI standards and warranty wording, against the 2.2 gpm kitchen faucet maximum in 10 CFR 430.32
- Assumptions
- Flow figures are the maker’s rated maximum at 60 psi; household pressure and the aerator fitted change the delivered flow
- A spec sheet read for one finish or one non-touch model of a series applies to the linked finish or touch variant of the same series; where the linked model differs, the page says so
- Delta’s RP50587 match to one-handle DST faucets comes from this site’s Delta cartridge page, built from Delta’s parts pages; neither Delta sheet read this session prints a cartridge part number
- California’s lower state limit was not read from a state page this session and is not quoted
- Method
- OwnerSpec compared manufacturer-published specifications read on 2026-10-03 and confirmed each linked listing in stock the same day; it did not install, run or test any faucet and reports only the figures the cited document prints
