Culligan HF-360 and WH-HD200-C Replacement Filters: Which Cartridges Fit, and Cross-Fit Alternatives
The Culligan HF-360 takes 10 x 2.5 in cartridges (CW-MF, CW-F, P5); the WH-HD200-C takes 10 x 4.5 in (R50-BBSA, CW5-BBS, RFC-BBSA), 8,000 to 24,000 gallons each.

Short answer
The Culligan HF-360A and HF-360B take 10 x 2.5 in cartridges; the Culligan WH-HD200-C takes 10 x 4.5 in Big Blue cartridges, and neither fits the other. Culligan’s 2011 HF-360A manual lists the CW-MF (30 micron), CW-F (10 micron), P5 (5 micron) and P1 (1 micron) for the HF-360, at 2 to 4 months each with one month counted as about 4,000 gallons. Culligan’s WH-HD200-C page lists the R50-BBSA (50 micron, 24,000 gallons or 6 months), the CW5-BBS (5 micron, 16,000 gallons or 4 months) and the RFC-BBSA (25 micron carbon, 10,000 gallons or 3 months). Any standard 10 x 2.5 in cartridge such as the iSpring FP15 fits the HF-360, and any standard 10 x 4.5 in cartridge (Pentek DGD-2501, iSpring FP15B, Pureplus PPL10BB-01) fits the WH-HD200-C. The one spec that must match is the cartridge size: both housings run 30 to 125 psi and 40 to 100 F whichever cartridge is fitted.
What fits
HF-360, 5 micron: the OEM part every source agrees on
Culligan P5

HF-360, 10 micron: the OEM cord-wound part
Culligan CW-F
10 x 2.5 in cord-wound polypropylene, 10 micron; 12,000 gallons per the current listing; 2-pack
WH-HD200-C, grit and pressure: the longest-lived OEM part
Culligan R50-BBSA
10 x 4.5 in pleated, 50 micron; 24,000 gallons or 6 months; 10 GPM; 3-pack
WH-HD200-C, fine silt: the OEM 5 micron part
Culligan CW5-BBS
10 x 4.5 in cord-wound, 5 micron; 16,000 gallons or 4 months; 8 GPM; single cartridge
WH-HD200-C cross-fit, finest rating on the page
Pentek DGD-2501
10 x 4.5 in dual-gradient polypropylene, 25 micron outer and 1 micron inner; genuine Pentair listing, pack of 1
HF-360 cross-fit with a higher rated capacity
iSpring FP15
10 x 2.5 in multi-layer, 5 micron; 15,000 gallons per the listing
The spec people get wrong is the diameter, not the length: both housings take a 10 in cartridge, and only one of them takes a 4.5 in one.
Which cartridges fit the HF-360 and the WH-HD200-C?
The two housings share a cartridge length and nothing else. Culligan’s 2011 HF-360A manual gives the HF-360 3/4 in ports and a 10 x 2.5 in cartridge; Culligan’s WH-HD200-C page gives 1 in ports, a 4.5 in cartridge and up to 10 GPM. Amazon sells the smaller housing as HF-360A/HF-360B ; the manual’s cartridge table covers both.

| Culligan RFC-BBSA | WH-HD200-C , sediment plus chlorine taste and odor | 10 x 4.5 in | 25 micron radial-flow carbon; 10,000 gallons or 3 months; 3 GPM (the product page also prints 8 GPM; Culligan’s own Q&A answer and the listing say 3) | Culligan RFC-BBSA |
| Culligan CW25-BBS | WH-HD200-C | 10 x 4.5 in | Named as compatible on Culligan’s housing page; no spec page was opened | Not linked |
The working window is the same for both housings: 30 to 125 psi and 40 to 100 F, from the HF-360A manual and the WH-HD200-C page. The warranties differ: 5 years on the HF-360 housing, 2 years on the WH-HD200-C , and neither covers cartridges. The HF-360A manual also says to replace the plastic bottom every 5 years if it is clear and every 10 years if it is opaque.
What else fits the same housings?
The only fit spec Culligan publishes is the nominal size, so any standard 10 x 2.5 in cartridge goes into the HF-360 and any standard 10 x 4.5 in Big Blue cartridge goes into the WH-HD200-C. Pentair’s and iSpring’s own spec pages would not render for this page, so the figures below are listing copy.
| Alternative | Fits | Same size? | Rating (source) | What differs from the Culligan part |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| iSpring FP15 | HF-360A/B | 10 x 2.5 in, yes | 5 micron multi-layer; 15,000 gallons; listing title says NSF certified with no standard number | Replaces the P5 at the same 5 micron with nearly twice the rated gallons |
| Pentek DGD-2501 | WH-HD200-C | 10 x 4.5 in, yes | Dual-gradient polypropylene, 25 micron outer and 1 micron inner (listing and resellers) | Finer than anything Culligan lists for this housing. Buy only the Pentair-branded listing: a COONOOL look-alike is 1/4 in longer per a verified-purchase review and did not seal |
| iSpring FP15B | WH-HD200-C | 10 x 4.5 in, yes | 5 micron polypropylene (listing) | Replaces the CW5-BBS ; no capacity figure on the listing title |
| Pureplus PPL10BB-01, 2-pack | WH-HD200-C | 10 x 4.5 in, yes | 1 micron pleated; listing names the R50-BBSA as the part it replaces | 50 times finer than the R50-BBSA it is sold against; the listing states no flow rate |
Aquaboon sells both sizes, but no Aquaboon listing was verified for this page, so none is linked. The 20 in version of the 4.5 in size is covered on the iSpring WGB32B replacement filters page.
NSF’s standards page defines NSF/ANSI 42 as the aesthetic-effects standard (chlorine, taste and odor, particulate, iron, manganese, TDS) and NSF/ANSI 53 as the health-effects standard. The HF-360A manual says WQA tested the housing against NSF/ANSI 42 for materials and structural integrity only, and the WH-HD200-C page says WQA and IAPMO certified structural integrity. Neither is a contaminant-reduction claim for any cartridge.
How often do they need replacing?
Culligan’s month figures are approximations of the gallon figures: the HF-360A manual states one month as about 4,000 gallons, with flow rates measured at 60 psi. A P5 is therefore 8,000 gallons, an R50-BBSA 24,000 gallons, and the household’s water use decides which arrives first.
The flow ceiling is the other limit. Culligan rates the RFC-BBSA at 3 GPM against 10 GPM for the housing, so a carbon cartridge in a WH-HD200-C caps the whole house at the cartridge’s figure. The whole house filter flow rate calculator turns fixtures into GPM to check against that 3 GPM.
The housing itself has a documented history. Culligan’s own WH-HD200-C store page carries 10 reviews averaging 1.5 out of 5, and its Amazon listing (4.4 stars over 3,791 ratings) carries reviews of the housing cracking at the seam after 2 to 3 years and of the bypass valve seizing. Those are owner reports, not a test.
Which cartridge to buy
Culligan’s own sheets do not agree with each other: the CW-F page carries the P5’s spec table, the RFC-BBSA page prints two flow rates, and the CW-F and CW-MF gallon figures moved between the 2011 manual and today’s listings. The figures above are the ones the current pages and the manual agree on. For the HF-360, fit a P5 for 5 micron or a CW-F for 10 micron. For the WH-HD200-C, fit an R50-BBSA if the complaint is grit and pressure and a CW5-BBS if it is fine silt. Skip all of them if the well runs orange or black: EPA’s secondary standards for iron (0.3 mg/L) and manganese (0.05 mg/L) are not sediment problems, and the iron in well water and manganese black stains guides carry those limits. Skip the 1 micron DGD-2501 and PPL10BB-01 if pressure drop is the complaint.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Culligan CW5-BBS fit the HF-360 housing?
No. Culligan's CW5-BBS product page lists it as a 4.5 in diameter heavy-duty cartridge for the WH-HD200-C and HD-950A housings. The HF-360A manual's cartridge selection guide names only 10 x 2.5 in cartridges for that housing: CW-MF at 30 micron, CW-F at 10 micron, P5 at 5 micron and P1 at 1 micron. The two housings share a 10 in length and nothing else.
Why do the CW-F and CW-MF gallon figures differ between the manual and the listing?
Culligan's 2011 HF-360A manual rates the CW-F at 2 months and the CW-MF at 4 months, with one month counted as about 4,000 gallons. Culligan's current product pages and Amazon listings rate both at 12,000 gallons or 3 months. The micron ratings agree in every source; only the life figures drifted, and Culligan does not say why. This page uses the current figures.
What is the real flow rate of the Culligan RFC-BBSA carbon cartridge?
3 GPM. Culligan's RFC-BBSA product page prints 8 GPM in its description, but a Culligan customer-service answer on the same page corrects it to 3 GPM, and the current Amazon listing title also states 3 GPM. That is the lowest flow figure of any cartridge Culligan lists for the WH-HD200-C, against 10 GPM for the R50-BBSA and 8 GPM for the CW5-BBS.
Which 10 x 4.5 in cartridges fit the WH-HD200-C besides Culligan's own?
Any standard 10 x 4.5 in Big Blue cartridge. The listings opened for this page were the Pentair Pentek DGD-2501 (dual-gradient, 25 micron outer and 1 micron inner), the iSpring FP15B (5 micron polypropylene) and the Pureplus PPL10BB-01 (1 micron pleated, 2-pack), whose title names the Culligan R50-BBSA as the part it replaces. Size is the only fit spec; micron rating and capacity change with each one.
Is the Pentek DGD-2501 on Amazon always the genuine Pentair part?
No. A look-alike listing under the COONOOL brand uses the DGD-2501 name and packaging, and a verified-purchase review on it reports the cartridge is 9 7/8 in long against the genuine Pentek's 9 5/8 in, so it does not seal in the housing and leaks. The genuine Pentair Pentek listing is ASIN B0014C09XG; check the brand line before buying.
