Short answer

The Samsung DA29-00020B is the cartridge Samsung sells as HAF-CIN/EXP, and Samsung’s own product page rates it at 300 gallons or 6 months (about 1,200 litres), fitted with a 90 degree rotate-and-lock twist. The same page lists it to NSF/ANSI 42 for chlorine taste and odour and to NSF/ANSI 53 for cysts, turbidity, lead, asbestos, benzene, carbofuran, p-dichlorobenzene and mercury. It fits Samsung French-door and side-by-side refrigerators in the RF22, RF23, RF24, RF25, RF26, RF28 and RH22 families on Samsung’s list, with DA29-00020A as the earlier revision and DA97-08006A as an alternate number on vendor cross-reference lists. Four cross-fits sell for the same slot: AQUA CREST AQF-DA29-00020B, ICEPURE RWF0700A, Waterdrop WD-DA29-00020B and GLACIER FRESH GF-20B. The spec that must match is the refrigerator model number, not the number printed on the old cartridge: Samsung publishes no flow rate and no micron rating for this filter, so fit is the only thing you can check before buying.

Fact sheet

Answer
Samsung rates the DA29-00020B (HAF-CIN/EXP) at 300 gallons or 6 months, a 90 degree rotate-and-lock cartridge listed to NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 on Samsung’s product page. AQUA CREST, ICEPURE, Waterdrop and GLACIER FRESH each sell a cross-fit for the same slot; Samsung publishes no flow rate or micron rating for it.
Applies to
  • DA29-00020B
  • Also sold as: HAF-CIN/EXP
  • Earlier revision: DA29-00020A (vendor cross-references)
Compatibility basis
Samsung Canada HAF-CIN/EXP product page (capacity, interval, installation type, NSF/ANSI listing, compatible model list) and Samsung Ireland’s counterfeit refrigerator water filter support alert
Assumptions
  • Every certification is as stated on the maker’s own page; the NSF and IAPMO listing databases were not opened this session.
  • The DA29-00020A revision link and DA97-08006A as an alternate number rest on vendor cross-reference lists, not a Samsung parts catalog.
  • Samsung publishes no flow rate and no micron rating for this cartridge; vendor figures for either are not attributed to Samsung.
Method
Capacity, interval, installation type and the compatible model list read from Samsung’s product page; each cross-fit’s own product page read for its certification and capacity claims; Amazon listings opened only to confirm the ASIN and pack size. Nothing was tested.

What fits

  1. The only cartridge that comes from Samsung itself

    Samsung DA29-00020B genuine (HAF-CIN/EXP), 1-pack

    300 gallons or 6 months, NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 per Samsung's page; 90 degree rotate-and-lock

  2. Cross-fit with 42, 53 and 372 on its own page

    Waterdrop WD-DA29-00020B (WD-F27), 1 filter

6 months; 300 and 200 gallons both printed on Waterdrop's page; 99.6 percent lead reduction claimed

  3. Cheapest per filter when only taste and odour matter

    AQUA CREST AQF-DA29-00020B (AQF-FF27), 3-pack

Listing spec line reads NSF 42/372; maker's own page could not be opened this session

  4. Cross-fit whose maker page lists 42 and 372

    ICEPURE RWF0700A, 3-pack

NSF/ANSI 42 and 372 per icepurefilter.com; the Amazon listing also claims 53, unresolved

  5. The only cross-fit that publishes a micron rating

    GLACIER FRESH GF-20B, 2-pack

0.5 micron carbon block, 97.9 percent chlorine reduction, 6 months per Glacier Fresh's page

If the old filter pulls straight out of the grille instead of twisting a quarter turn, this is the wrong page: the DA29-00020B is the 90 degree rotate-and-lock cartridge, and no cross-fit changes that.

Which Samsung refrigerators take the DA29-00020B?

Samsung’s Canada product page for the HAF-CIN/EXP carries the compatibility list, and it is the only Samsung document found this session that names models. The families below are a reading aid; the models are Samsung’s, and the suffix after the slash is part of the match.

Samsung’s US page adds one sentence that matters for the cross-fits below: only Samsung Genuine Filters are designed to work with your Samsung refrigerator. The genuine DA29-00020B sells as a 1-pack.

Three other numbers circulate with the DA29-00020B, and one of them is not a filter.

NumberWhat it isWho says so
DA29-00020AThe earlier revision of the same cartridge, DA29-00020B currentVendor and retailer pages; no Samsung page states it
DA97-08006A (and DA97-08006A-1)An alternate OEM number for the same HAF-CIN/EXP cartridgeVendor cross-reference lists
DA97-08006DThe plastic filter head and tubing case assembly, not a cartridgeParts listings for that number

What else fits the same slot?

Four cross-fit brands list DA29-00020B, DA29-00020A and HAF-CIN/EXP as the parts they replace. Their maker pages differ on what they certify, and the table records what each page says, not what a listing database shows; neither the NSF nor the IAPMO database could be opened this session.

AlternativeCertification per maker’s pageCapacity per maker’s pageSkip it if
Waterdrop WD-DA29-00020BNSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 372; 99.6 percent lead, 99.99 percent cysts, 97.4 percent chlorine claimed6 months; the page prints 300 gallons in one place and 200 gallons in anotherYou want one settled gallon figure
AQUA CREST AQF-DA29-00020BAmazon spec line reads NSF 42/372; AQUA CREST’s own page did not load this session300 gallons, 6 months per the listingYou need the certification scope read from the maker’s own page first
ICEPURE RWF0700ANSF/ANSI 42 and 372 on the base model per icepurefilter.com; 53 reserved for the IPP and Pro (RWF0700AH) variants; the Amazon listing claims 53 tooNot published on the maker’s pageLead or cyst reduction is why you are buying
GLACIER FRESH GF-20BGeneric NSF/ANSI, IAPMO and ISO wording; 97.9 percent chlorine reduction; 0.5 micron carbon block6 months; 200 gallons under “Long-Lasting Service Life,” but the same page’s FAQ says 300 gallonsYou want the standard numbers printed

None of the four maker pages publishes a flow rate, and only Glacier Fresh prints a micron rating, so the cross-fits cannot be compared on paper beyond the certification column. The Waterdrop page is the only cross-fit that names all three of 42, 53 and 372 on its own site.

The ICEPURE discrepancy is worth one sentence: the plain 3-pack listing’s title and spec line claim NSF/ANSI 53, while ICEPURE’s own site gives the base RWF0700A 42 and 372 only, and this page does not resolve which is right. Glacier Fresh’s own page carries a similar conflict: its spec bullets state 200 gallons while its FAQ on the same page states 300 gallons, and this page does not resolve which figure is current.

How often does it need replacing?

Samsung’s product page gives one figure, 6 months or 300 gallons, and no condition that shortens it. Across 6 months that is about 1.6 gallons a day through the dispenser and ice maker; a household above that reaches the gallon limit first.

The cross-fits repeat the 6 months. Waterdrop’s page states both 300 gallons and 200 gallons for the same filter, and Glacier Fresh’s page states 200 gallons in its spec bullets and 300 gallons in its own FAQ, so neither gives a gallon figure this page can rely on.

How do you spot a counterfeit?

Samsung’s Ireland support alert on counterfeit refrigerator water filters is the only Samsung document found this session that describes a check. It names five duplicate serial numbers seen on fakes, A8441, AK27, DJ27, A5393 and A4461, and it warns that an unapproved filter can lead to leaks and damage to the refrigerator, which may result in electric shock.

The alert’s remedy is the seller, not the packaging: buy from samsung.com, an authorised parts seller or an authorised service centre. No Samsung source found this session describes a holographic sticker, a body marking or a reset-light test, so this page offers none; the third-party guides that do are not Samsung’s word.

Genuine or cross-fit

The genuine DA29-00020B costs more per cartridge and Samsung’s page claims nothing for it that the cross-fits do not also claim, except that Samsung’s own page says it is designed to work with your refrigerator, plus the NSF/ANSI 53 list of lead, cysts and mercury printed by Samsung itself. Buy it if that list on Samsung’s own page is what you are paying for. Skip the genuine filter if the goal is the lowest price per cartridge: every cross-fit here claims the same NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 pair at a lower per-unit cost. Buy Waterdrop if you want the same three standards on the maker’s page at a lower price and can live with two gallon figures. Buy nothing until your full model number, suffix included, is in the table above: Samsung’s guarantee of fit is by refrigerator model, not by the number on the old cartridge.

Frequently asked questions

Which Samsung refrigerators take the DA29-00020B filter?

Samsung's HAF-CIN/EXP product page lists French-door and side-by-side models in the RF22, RF23, RF24, RF25, RF26, RF28 and RH22 families, for example RF28HMEDBSR/AA, RF263BEAESR/AA and RF23J9011SR/AA. Vendor lists add the RS25H and RS25J side-by-sides. Match the full model number including the suffix after the slash against Samsung's list, not the family alone.

How often does Samsung say to replace the DA29-00020B?

Samsung's product page rates the HAF-CIN/EXP at 300 gallons or 6 months, whichever comes first, and gives roughly 1,200 litres as the metric equivalent. Samsung publishes no condition that shortens the interval, so a household drawing more than about 1.6 gallons a day through the dispenser and ice maker reaches the gallon limit before the 6 months are up.

Is the DA29-00020A the same filter as the DA29-00020B?

Vendor and retailer pages describe the DA29-00020A as the earlier revision of the same HAF-CIN/EXP cartridge, with DA29-00020B current, and every cross-fit lists both numbers as parts it replaces. No Samsung page found this session states the relationship directly, so treat the A-to-B link as a vendor claim, and buy by refrigerator model number rather than by the old cartridge's label.

How does Samsung say to identify a counterfeit refrigerator filter?

Samsung's Ireland support alert names five duplicate serial numbers found on counterfeit filters, A8441, AK27, DJ27, A5393 and A4461, and tells buyers to purchase from samsung.com, authorised parts sellers or authorised service centres. Samsung warns an unapproved filter can leak and damage the refrigerator. No Samsung source describes a holographic sticker or a reset-light test, so neither is a check this page can offer.

Does the ICEPURE RWF0700A carry the same NSF/ANSI 53 listing as the Samsung filter?

Not on ICEPURE's own site. Icepurefilter.com's spec table lists the base RWF0700A to NSF/ANSI 42 and 372 only, and adds NSF/ANSI 53 on the separately named IPP and Pro (RWF0700AH) variants. The Amazon listing for the plain 3-pack claims 53 as well, which the maker's page does not support, so the lead and cyst claim is unresolved for that ASIN.
