Samsung DA29-00003G Refrigerator Water Filter: Why It Is the HAFIN1/EXP and Not the HAF-CIN, What It Replaces and Which Cross-Fits Match
DA29-00003G is Samsung's HAFIN1/EXP cartridge for head DA97-06317A, not the 300-gallon HAF-CIN DA29-00020B; the ICEPURE cross-fit lists NSF/ANSI 42.

Short answer
Samsung DA29-00003G is the HAFIN1/EXP cartridge, sold under the Aqua-Pure Plus name, for the DA97-06317A filter head in older RS side-by-side and early French-door refrigerators. It is not the HAF-CIN/EXP: Samsung’s own HAF-CIN product page gives that cartridge’s replacement code as DA29-00020B, rated at 300 gallons or 6 months and listed to NSF/ANSI 42 and 53. The two do not interchange, so match the code stamped on the old cartridge. DA29-00003G replaces the earlier DA29-00003A, DA29-00003B, DA29-00003D and DA29-00003F codes and answers to the HAFCU1 and HAFIN2/EXP names, per ICEPURE’s cross-reference pages and Samsung’s own HAFIN2/EXP and HAFCU1/XAA product pages, which give the cartridge’s capacity as 300 gallons and list it to NSF/ANSI 42 and 53. Neither Samsung page states a month or liter interval. Samsung’s US order page lists 1-packs and 2-packs; the ICEPURE RWF1100A 3-pack is the cross-fit with a live listing, at NSF/ANSI 42 and 372 per ICEPURE’s page. Samsung names 5 serial numbers that mark a counterfeit.
The picks
The exact code stamped on your old cartridge
Samsung DA29-00003G genuine, 1-pack
Samsung Aqua-Pure Plus, HAFIN1/EXP family; listing compatibility field names DA97-06317A, HAFCU1 and HAFIN2; 300 gal, NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 per Samsung's HAFIN2/EXP and HAFCU1/XAA pages; no month interval published
Cheapest cross-fit; chlorine taste and odour only
ICEPURE RWF1100A, 3-pack
NSF/ANSI 42 and 372 per ICEPURE's page, 0.5 micron outer layer; no NSF/ANSI 53 claim
If your fridge is an RF22 to RF28 French-door with a cartridge marked DA29-00020B, leave now: that is the Samsung DA29-00020B page, and the DA29-00003G will not seat in its head.
Which cartridge fits the DA97-06317A filter head?
The DA97-06317A head takes the DA29-00003G , and the Amazon listing’s compatibility field repeats DA97-06317A, HAFCU1 and HAFIN2 as the codes it serves. Samsung’s own product page for this cartridge is filed under the HAFIN2/EXP name, not “DA29-00003G,” which is why it was hard to find; the earlier-code family list below still comes from ICEPURE’s three cross-fit pages, which agree with each other.
| Code on the old cartridge or head | What it is | Fits the DA29-00003G slot? |
|---|---|---|
| DA29-00003G | Current cartridge code, Aqua-Pure Plus, HAFIN1/EXP | Yes, this is the part |
| DA29-00003A, DA29-00003B, DA29-00003D, DA29-00003F | Earlier revisions of the same cartridge, per ICEPURE’s Plus page | Yes |
| DA97-06317A | The filter head or system model, per ICEPURE’s RWF1100A page | Yes, this is the socket |
| HAFCU1, HAFIN1, HAFIN2/EXP | Samsung’s accessory names for the same family, per ICEPURE’s Pro page | Yes |
| DA29-00020B (HAF-CIN/EXP) | Samsung’s RF French-door cartridge, 300 gal or 6 months per Samsung Canada | No, different head |
| DA97-17376B (HAF-QIN/EXP) | Samsung’s newer French-door cartridge | No, see the HAF-QIN page |
Samsung’s naming is the trap here. Searches for “Samsung HAF-CIN replacement filter” surface DA29-00003G listings, but Samsung Canada’s HAF-CIN/EXP page prints “Replacement Cartridge Code: DA29-00020B”, so a HAF-CIN owner who buys the DA29-00003G has the wrong cartridge.
Samsung lists the DA29-00020B to NSF/ANSI 42 for chlorine taste and odour and NSF/ANSI 53 for cysts, turbidity, lead, asbestos, benzene, carbofuran, p-dichlorobenzene and mercury. Samsung’s own HAFIN2/EXP product page lists the DA29-00003G to the same two standards, NSF/ANSI 42 and 53, and gives its capacity as 300 gallons; Samsung’s HAFCU1/XAA page repeats the 300-gallon figure. What each standard covers is on the NSF/ANSI standards guide.
What else fits the same slot?
Three ICEPURE cartridges claim the DA29-00003G slot on ICEPURE’s own pages. Only one, the RWF1100A 3-pack, was found as a live Amazon listing; the Pro RWF1100AH and the Plus line were not, so they are named without a link.
No live Waterdrop or Culligan product page for this exact code was found, so neither brand appears in the table below. Waterdrop’s own buyer’s-guide blog post claims a DA29-00003G replacement tested to NSF/ANSI 42, 52 and 372 as model EFF-6011S, with 99.6 percent lead reduction and NSF 53 certification, but the product page that post links to 404s, so this is a blog claim about a listing that is no longer live, not a candidate this page can send a reader to buy. Culligan publishes no cross-fit page for this code at all.
| Alternative | Codes it claims, per ICEPURE | NSF/ANSI listed, per ICEPURE | What differs |
|---|---|---|---|
| ICEPURE RWF1100A (3-pack) | DA29-00003G, D, B, A, DA97-06317A, HAFIN1, HAFIN2 | 42 and 372 | 0.5 micron outer layer; claims 97.5 percent chlorine, taste and odour reduction; no lead or cyst claim |
| ICEPURE Pro RWF1100AH (no Amazon listing found) | DA29-00003G, A, B, D, DA97-06317A, HAFCU1, HAFIN1, HAFIN2/EXP | 42, 372 and 53 | Claims over 98 percent PFOA and PFOS and over 99 percent lead, mercury and cysts; micron and capacity not stated |
| ICEPURE Plus DA29-00003G line (no Amazon listing found) | DA29-00003G, B, A, D, F, DA97-06317A, HAFCU1, WF289, WSS-1 | 53 and 42, from the product title | Micron, capacity and flow not captured on the page |
Every certification in that table is as listed on ICEPURE’s page, none checked against the NSF listing database.
The base RWF1100A carries no NSF/ANSI 53 claim. A household that bought a fridge filter for lead or cyst reduction should not pick it; the Pro is the ICEPURE variant that claims 53, and it has to be bought from ICEPURE directly.
How often does it need replacing?
Samsung’s HAFIN2/EXP and HAFCU1/XAA product pages both give the DA29-00003G’s capacity as 300 gallons, the same figure Samsung lists for the different DA29-00020B. Neither page states a month or liter interval, and none of the three ICEPURE pages states one either. The only Samsung-hosted “6 months” figure is a Samsung Care support reply to a customer review on the HAFCU1/XAA page, not a specification field, so it is named here but not treated as Samsung’s rated interval.
Use the figure printed on the cartridge box or in the refrigerator manual, and take 300 gallons as a ceiling; see white flakes in ice if the dispenser starts spitting particles.
The counterfeit check applies to every Samsung filter, not this code alone. Samsung Ireland’s support alert names 5 serial numbers that indicate fakes: A8441, AK27, DJ27, A5393 and A4461. Samsung’s HAFCU1/XAA page also describes a physical Authentication Tag test: detach the tag from the filter, place it over the supplied magnet, and green stripes confirm a genuine Samsung filter.
It tells buyers to purchase only from samsung.com, authorised parts sellers or authorised service centres, and warns that unapproved filters can leak and damage the refrigerator. The genuine listing here is sold through third-party sellers under the Samsung store, so check the serial and the Authentication Tag on arrival.
Genuine or cross-fit
The genuine DA29-00003G is the only cartridge Samsung stands behind. Samsung’s own pages rate it at 300 gallons and NSF/ANSI 42 and 53, but publish no month or liter interval, so you still have to watch usage rather than a clock.
If chlorine taste is the only reason you filter, the ICEPURE RWF1100A 3-pack claims NSF/ANSI 42 and 372 per ICEPURE and costs less per cartridge.
If you need a lead or cyst claim, neither linked cartridge states one: buy the ICEPURE Pro from ICEPURE, or buy the genuine cartridge and read the box. Buy nothing until you have read the code on the old cartridge.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Samsung DA29-00003G the same filter as the HAF-CIN/EXP?
No. Samsung's own HAF-CIN/EXP product page gives that cartridge's replacement code as DA29-00020B, rated at 300 gallons or 6 months and listed to NSF/ANSI 42 and 53. DA29-00003G is the HAFIN1/EXP cartridge for the DA97-06317A filter head, a different physical slot. Match the code stamped on the old cartridge, not the name on the box.
Which older Samsung part numbers does DA29-00003G replace?
ICEPURE's cross-fit pages list DA29-00003A, DA29-00003B, DA29-00003D and DA29-00003F as earlier codes for the same DA97-06317A slot, alongside the HAFCU1, HAFIN1 and HAFIN2/EXP names and the Aqua-Pure Plus branding. The Amazon listing for the genuine cartridge repeats DA97-06317A, HAFCU1 and HAFIN2 in its compatibility field. Samsung's own list was not located.
How does Samsung say to spot a counterfeit refrigerator filter?
Samsung Ireland's support alert names five serial numbers that indicate fake filters: A8441, AK27, DJ27, A5393 and A4461. Samsung's HAFCU1/XAA page also describes a physical check: detach the filter's Authentication Tag, place it over the supplied magnet, and green stripes confirm a genuine Samsung filter. Buy only from samsung.com, authorised parts sellers or authorised service centres.
Does any DA29-00003G cross-fit list NSF/ANSI 53?
Yes: Samsung's own HAFIN2/EXP page lists the genuine DA29-00003G to NSF/ANSI 42 and 53. Per ICEPURE's own product pages, the Pro RWF1100AH also lists 42, 372 and 53, and the Plus line carries 53 and 42 in its title, while the base RWF1100A lists only 42 and 372. None of the ICEPURE claims was checked against the NSF listing database.
How often should a DA29-00003G be replaced?
Samsung's HAFIN2/EXP and HAFCU1/XAA pages both give DA29-00003G's capacity as 300 gallons, the same figure Samsung lists for the DA29-00020B. Neither page states a month or liter interval; the only Samsung-hosted '6 months' figure is a Samsung Care support reply to a customer review, not a published spec. Use the interval printed on your cartridge box or in the refrigerator manual.
Fact sheet and how to cite this page
- Answer
- Samsung DA29-00003G is the HAFIN1/EXP (Aqua-Pure Plus) cartridge for filter head DA97-06317A and replaces the earlier DA29-00003A, B, D and F codes. It is not the HAF-CIN/EXP, whose code Samsung’s product page gives as DA29-00020B at 300 gallons or 6 months. Samsung’s own HAFIN2/EXP and HAFCU1/XAA pages give DA29-00003G’s capacity as 300 gallons and list it to NSF/ANSI 42 and 53; neither states a month or liter interval.
- Applies to
- DA29-00003G
- Filter head: DA97-06317A
- Compatibility basis
- Samsung Canada HAF-CIN/HAF-CIN-EXP product page (cartridge code DA29-00020B, 300 gal, 6 months, NSF/ANSI 42 and 53), Samsung’s HAFIN2/EXP and HAFCU1/XAA product pages (DA29-00003G, 300 gal, NSF/ANSI 42 and 53) and Samsung Ireland’s counterfeit filter alert; cross-reference codes from ICEPURE’s RWF1100A, Pro RWF1100AH and Plus product pages
- Assumptions
- Samsung’s own product page for this code is filed under the HAFIN2/EXP name (Samsung New Zealand) and the HAFCU1/XAA name (Samsung US), not under ‘DA29-00003G’; the earlier-code cross-reference list (DA29-00003A/B/D/F) still comes from ICEPURE’s pages, not Samsung’s.
- Certifications for every cross-fit are as listed on ICEPURE’s own page, not checked against the NSF listing database.
- Only the genuine 1-pack and the ICEPURE RWF1100A 3-pack were confirmed as live Amazon listings; the Pro RWF1100AH and Plus were not found on Amazon.
- Method
- Cartridge code, capacity and certifications read from Samsung’s HAF-CIN/EXP page to show what DA29-00020B is; DA29-00003G’s own capacity and certification read from Samsung’s HAFIN2/EXP and HAFCU1/XAA pages; DA29-00003G’s earlier-code family read from three ICEPURE cross-fit pages; counterfeit serials and the authentication-tag test from Samsung’s Ireland alert and HAFCU1/XAA page; ASINs and pack sizes confirmed on the Amazon listings. Nothing was tested.
